Leon's Gonzalez scores in first half to defeat Atletico San Luis

Leon moved into the top four in the Liga MX standings with a 1-0 win over Atletico San Luis on Wednesday night.

The victory was Leon's second in a row and extended their unbeaten streak to three games. Atletico San Luis, meanwhile, remained in 11th place with the loss.

The only goal of the game came in the 25th minute, when Leon's Victor Mendez floated a cross to the back post, where Omar Gonzalez headed it past goalkeeper Marcelo Barovero.

Atletico San Luis had a chance to equalize in the second half, but Nicolas Ibañez's penalty kick was saved by Leon goalkeeper Rodolfo Cota.

Leon held on for the win, which moved them up to fourth place in the standings with 13 points from eight games. Atletico San Luis remained in 11th place with seven points from eight games.
